Bruce, when I think about the life you’ve lived, I don’t simply see the heights you’ve reached. I see the courage it took to climb, the determination it took to keep going through unexpected turns, and the quiet strength it took to face moments no one else could fully understand.

You have lived through challenges, made difficult decisions, experienced the exhilaration of achievement, and learned the lessons that only time can teach. Yet what moves me most is not the résumé of your life, impressive as it is. It is the man behind it.

Your compassion. Your generosity of spirit. Your wisdom. Your remarkable ability to recognize possibility in other people—and to help them recognize it in themselves.

You have been more than a friend to me. You have been a teacher, a source of perspective, a voice of encouragement, and an example of the kind of person I hope to become. Your friendship has challenged me to think bigger, to push past my own doubts, and to believe in what I can accomplish.

I hope you know that the mark you leave on people is not measured by the titles you’ve held or the successes you’ve earned. It is measured by the lives you’ve touched, the kindness you’ve shown, and the confidence you’ve helped others find.

Perhaps the finest legacy is not simply to live an extraordinary life, but to make life more extraordinary for the people fortunate enough to share part of the journey.

On your 74th birthday, I celebrate your resilience, your integrity, your humor, and, above all, your heart. Thank you for your friendship, your wisdom, your patience, and for pushing me to be the best version of myself.
